Every room has a story, and the right carpet can set the tone for your home's narrative. From intricate traditional designs to bold modern designs, the placement of your rug plays a crucial role in curating a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. Join us as we explore how to place your luxury carpet to achieve maximum impact, style, and comfort.
Living Room
When placing a rug in the living room, the key is to anchor your seating area. Ideally, all furniture legs should sit on the rug for a cohesive look, but at the very least, front legs of sofas and chairs should be on it. Leave equal space on all sides if possible, and ensure the rug is large enough to define the entire seating zone. This creates visual balance and helps tie the room together, adding warmth and softness underfoot.

Bedroom
In the bedroom, a rug adds comfort and grounding to your space. For larger beds, like queen or king, the rug should extend at least 18–24 inches beyond the sides and foot of the bed, ideally covering the area you step onto when getting out of bed. You can also opt for two runners on either side or a single large rug that sits beneath the lower two-thirds of the bed. This setup adds warmth and a touch of luxury to your morning routine.

Dining Room
A dining room rug should extend at least 24–30 inches beyond the edge of the table on all sides, allowing chairs to slide in and out comfortably without catching on the edges. Choose a flatweave or low-pile rug for easier cleaning and to keep chairs level. The rug should center under the table and align with the shape of the table—rectangular rug for rectangular table, round for round—for a harmonious fit.
