A Family Affair

L to R: Zabi, Assad, Murtaza, and Zubair

Amadi Carpets is a family-owned company dedicated to preserving the centuries-old art of rug weaving while championing ethical, human-centered design. Founded by the Ahmadi family and now led by four brothers—Assad, Zabi, Zubair, and Murtaza—Amadi combines generations of expertise, cultural heritage, and a deep commitment to craftsmanship and community. Based in Los Angeles and founded by Afghan natives, Amadi has grown into an internationally respected name in artisanal rug making. Under the creative leadership of Zubair Ahmadi, Amadi's designs blend heritage with modernity, emphasizing texture, form, and color. Each rug is crafted with intentionality, designed to be not only decorative but an artistic statement within a space. Beyond design, Amadi is committed to social impact through its Sakhi Women’s Weaving and Education Center in Kabul. The center empowers Afghan women by teaching them rug weaving and providing sustainable income opportunities, helping them support their families and communities. Amadi's commitment to ethical production and social responsibility has made it a respected name in the global design world.
